Terms of Service

Welcome to Sonatales. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Aksbyte Technology ("we", "us", or "our") concerning your access to and use of the Sonatales mobile application, website, and related audio streaming services (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, browsing, or using any part of the Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must discontinue using the Service immediately.

• Minimum Age: You must be at least 13 years of age to access or use Sonatales.
• Minors (Ages 13 to 17): If you are under 18 years old, you represent and warrant that you possess the consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian to access the Service, sign in, or make in-app purchases. Parents or guardians agreeing on behalf of a minor are fully responsible for the minor's compliance with these Terms.

Sonatales provides on-demand streaming of short audio fiction and multi-episode audio stories in Hindi and English across genres such as suspense, horror, romance, and drama. Features include sleep timers, language selection, playback resumption, and curated playlists Coming Soon. Access to certain premium stories, high-fidelity audio, and unlimited offline caching Coming Soon may require a paid subscription ("Sonatales Plus").

• No Sign-In Required for Listening: You can browse, discover, and listen to free stories as a guest without creating an account or providing an email address. Anonymous playback progress and favorites are stored locally on your device.
• Optional Google Sign-In: To sync your library, favorites, and listening streaks across multiple devices, you may voluntarily sign in using your existing Google Account.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

• AI-Assisted Production: The stories, narrative scripts, and audio narration available on Sonatales are generated using artificial intelligence technologies and reviewed by human editors before publication.
• Works of Fiction: All stories, characters, places, and dialogues are purely fictional. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, or actual historical events is entirely coincidental.
• No Reliance: The audio content is provided solely for personal entertainment and relaxation. It does not constitute professional, medical, legal, or psychological advice.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Aksbyte Technology grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, personal license to stream and temporarily cache audio stories through the official Sonatales application solely for your personal, non-commercial entertainment.

You may NOT:

• Copy, record, rip, capture, decompile, reverse-engineer, or extract raw audio files from the app.
• Distribute, broadcast, stream, resell, rent, or publicly perform any content from Sonatales.
• Remove, alter, or obscure any digital rights management (DRM), watermarks, or copyright notices.

When accessing Sonatales, you agree not to:

• Use any automated robot, bot, spider, scraper, or deep-link to access, extract, index, or monitor any portion of the Service or its audio files.
• Interfere with or circumvent security measures, rate limits, or network integrity.
• Abuse the in-app reporting tool by submitting fraudulent, abusive, or bad-faith content reports.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our backend servers, cloud databases, or other users' data.

• Community Reporting: Users can flag content that violates community standards or encounters audio playback errors via the in-app "Report" action.
• Suspension & Termination: We reserve the right, without prior notice or liability, to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account or device access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or abuse our infrastructure.

• Paid tiers ("Sonatales Plus") and digital ebooks are billed strictly through Google Play Billing (or Apple In-App Purchase on iOS).
• Terms governing renewals, billing dates, cancellations, and refund requests are detailed in our Subscription & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Sonatales logo, soundwave design, brand name, visual interfaces, website code, scripts, artwork, and audio productions are the exclusive property of Aksbyte Technology or its licensors. All rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms are reserved.

The Service integrates with third-party tools such as Google Play, Supabase, and Cloudflare. Your interactions with third-party platforms are subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or practices of third-party platforms.

The Service and all audio stories are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted playback, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Aksbyte Technology, its officers, directors, employees, or partners be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your access to or inability to access the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the preceding six (6) months, or INR 1,000, whichever is greater.

We may amend these Terms at any time by updating this document with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service following such revisions constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. The competent courts located at [CITY], India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all matters arising hereunder.
